Dr. Cao is Assistant Professor, Canada Research Chair in Computational Psychiatry (Tier 2), Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, University of Alberta. Trained in mathematics (BSc), psychology (MSc), computational neuroscience (PhD), neuroimaging and psychiatry (postdoc), Dr. Cao has a strong passion for understanding the fundamental mechanisms of how the brain works and how to cure the brain when the mechanisms are disturbed. As the Canada Research Chair in Computational Psychiatry, he aims to perform data-driven research in mental health using multimodal neuroimaging, genetic, cognition, electronic health and administrative data.

Bo Cao博士是加拿大阿尔伯塔大学精神病学系助理教授,加拿大计算精神病学研究主席(二级)。他先后获得数学(理学学士)、心理学(理学硕士)、计算神经科学(博士)学位,博士后阶段从事神经影像学和精神病学研究。他热衷于了解大脑工作的基本机制,以及在机制受到干扰时如何治愈大脑,致力于利用多模态神经成像、遗传、认知、电子健康和管理数据进行数据驱动的精神健康研究。

4. Abstract: Dr. Cao will introduce computational psychiatry and precision medicine in mental health. He aims to develop translational tools that can provide accurate and personalized diagnosis and treatment optimization for mental disorders. This can be achieved by identifying objective biomarkers associated with mental disorders and their treatment outcomes through multimodal data including brain imaging, genetic, biological, behavioral, cognitive and clinical measurements, and by applying advanced machine learning and statistical algorithms to these data.

演讲简介:Bo Cao博士将介绍计算精神病学和精准医疗在精神健康方面的应用。他的目标是开发转化工具,为精神疾病提供准确和个性化的诊断和治疗优化。通过利用多模态数据(包括脑成像、遗传、生物、行为、认知和临床测量)识别与精神障碍及其治疗结果相关的客观生物标记,并把先进的机器学习和统计算法应用于这些数据,可以实现这一目标。
