Dong Jingcheng, professor, doctoral supervisor, director of the postdoctoral research station, and member of Shanghai CPPCC. He is the vice director of the General Hospital TCM Working Committee of China Association of Chinese Medicine, leader of the national “Double First-Class” and Shanghai municipal peak discipline—integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine discipline of Fudan University, director of the Institute of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine of Fudan University, director of the Department of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine (Clinic), School of Clinical Medicine, Fudan University, head of the Department of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine of Huashan University, and director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Traditional Medicine at Fudan University.
This lecture mainly includes: (1) briefly describing the similarities and differences in the symptoms, pathological changes and concerns of COVID-19 from the perspectives of TCM and modern medicine; (2) revealing the distribution of TCM syndromes and the characteristics of treatment based on syndrome differentiation; (3) summarizing the core medication of the syndrome and uncovering the scope of syndrome of prescriptions for the treatment of COVID-19. Besides, it is proposed to manifest the nature of pathogenic factors in the name of syndrome for effective clinical guidance, establish the syndrome elements differentiation system for acute infectious disease to promote the linkage between TCM and modern medicine, and develop Chinese patent medicines based on the core medication and scope of syndrome and syndrome elements of prescriptions.
